Will C. Wood Career Technical Education (CTE) Showcase
On April 19, Will C. Wood hosted a Career Technical Education (CTE) Showcase as Sacramento City Unified prepares to increase CTE Labs to four more middle schools in the Fall: Sutter, Einstein, Sam Brannan and Rosa Parks. Students will experience potential careers in a collaborative, hands-on environment. The 7th grade CTE labs will be inclusive of all the high school CTE pathways in the district, which will give students exposure to careers and enable them to choose a high school with the career pathway they would like to pursue. The 8th grade labs expand on the 7th grade labs, and include labs chosen by the site. The curriculum will also include units in career readiness (such as resume writing), industry guest speakers, demonstrations and field trips.
